APRIL’S MEETING DEMONSTRATOR: Sandra Adcock TITLE OF DEMONSTRATION: “Tales from the riverbank”

Wow! What an inspiring evening we had this month. For those of you who came, I am sure you will agree that Sandra’s demonstration was fabulous. There was a fantastic mix of styles from classic to modern, with a tremendous array of different flower types and colours. All of her ideas were very inspiring. I think we all learnt something new with the flower trivia too.

Sandra has kindly allowed us to post one photo from her demonstration, which will follow shortly.

COMPETITION: This month’s competition was a bit of a challenge, as it isn’t easy to keep a flower arrangement to only 9 inches!. The title was “A Petite Arrangement – Through the Garden Gate”. Only five members entered this month, but as you will see from the photos, each one was totally different, and all were beautiful.

The results are as follows:

COMPETITON RESULTS:

Advanced:

1st Liz Lewis – 10 points

2nd Pauline Green – 9 points

3rd Audrey Harris – 8 points

4th Cindy Hardy – 7 points

5th Anne Garneys – 6 points

Liz Lewis was awarded Best in Competition.

There were no Novice or Intermediate entries this month.

NATIONAL FLOWER ARRANGING DAY IS ON MAY 6th this year. If you didn’t pick up your “Lonely Bouquet” tie on ticket at club, you can download these from the NAFAS website (www.nafas.org.uk/content/The+Lonely+Bouquet). It is a lovely idea to leave a bouquet of flowers in a public place for someone to pick up and take home to enjoy. It is also a good way of promoting our friendly club too. If you are lucky enough to find one yourself, don’t forget to share it with us on Facebook.

Our next meeting with be on May 12th

Demonstrator: Joanne Randall

Title: “Seasonal Splendour”

Competition Title: “Incorporating Fabric”

Guests: £4.00 ** ALL WELCOME **
